St. Antoninus' Roman Catholic
Church was formed in 1875 by the Dominican Fathers. Originally services were held in
a house on Bank Street, near Eighth Street. A frame church was built on Ninth street
and used until 1882. On May 14, 1882, a new church was dedicated on South Orange
Avenue. The parish school was founded in 1882. 1912 saw the church expanded.
