5. Newark Airport currently serves 25.8 million passengers annually on over 435,000 arriving and departing flights of 45 posted airlines.

The "435,000" number is particularly mind-boggling to me. Here's why: In 1941, as a newspaper writer, I recall doing a story on the re-opening of Newark Airport after a one-year shut-down. Under Newark's contract with the scheduled airlines, the four major airlines then operating, who contracted to operate out of Newark, guaranteed a collective minimum of 60 flights per month.
