| October 30, 1940 Click on image to enlarge The Postal Telegraph telegram was from the manager of Postal Telegraph. Western Union and Postal Telegraph were deadly rivals for business from newspaper reporters who sent their stories, as I often did, by telegraph wire. The "election returns" referred to were the 1940 Presidential Elections which I covered for New Jersey from the Essex County Court House for International News Service.
