I lived in Newark from 1949 until 1967...
all of my childhood memories are ties to it...
and your recollection of the Weequahic diner was wonderful to read...
my family and I ate there once a week for the whole time we lived there...
and seeing the matchbook cover and the photos and reading your story made me so
happy.....
I loved there chicken in a basket...
their wonderful cole slaw they brought as soon as you sat down...
and their great pickles...
they had wonderful chiffon pies also....
I live out in California now
